Prime Minister Di Rupo and the King walked together with the American president to a chapel in the centre of Flanders Field American Cemetery and Memorial in Waregem. Here 368 US soldiers were given a last resting-place. This is only a fraction of the 170,000 American soldiers who were killed during this Great War.
